What We Do

The Kennek Foundation works much of its magic with the help of an angel in disguise… Trouble the Dog.  Through corporate sponsors and events such as our annual Motorcycle Ride to benefit first responders we are able to place Trouble comfort Dogs in cruisers, firetrucks and emergency vehicles for children in crisis.

An example of the Foundation’s outreach:

Through generous donations, an event was organized to soothe the souls of children affected by the tragedy in Newtown, CT. There were over 100 in attendance. The concept of Trouble The Dog was explained by Sheila, an actor donated his time to read the Here’s Trouble children’s book all about hope and resilience and Trouble Doghouses were assembled and ready for each individual child to color so they might illustrate their emotions. All of the children were given their own Trouble dog and signed book to take home. The testimonials received allow us to know that these children whisper their fears and concerns into Trouble’s ear and he continues to comfort them.

That’s what The Kennek Foundation is all about: providing comfort and hope to those most in need — and leaving a coping mechanism behind.
